Beyond the Logo: A Checklist for Your Physical Brand Touchpoints
Business cards, signage, uniforms, vehicles and packaging all carry your brand. A practical checklist for making every physical touchpoint work.
Most conversations about branding start with screens. But many of the moments that shape what people think of you’re physical: the sign above the door, the card handed over after a meeting, the box that arrives at home. A quick check of these touchpoints often finds easy wins.

Why physical touchpoints matter
People remember things they can touch. A well-made card, a clean uniform or a thoughtful pack shows care and builds trust in a way a web page can’t. A tatty or inconsistent one does the reverse.

The checklist
Signage and premises
- Is your name visible and readable from the street?
- Is the sign clean, lit if needed and in good repair?
- Do windows, doors and interiors carry the same look?
Printed materials
- Business cards. Do they use the current logo, colours and details?
- Stationery and invoices. Are they consistent with the website?
- Menus, leaflets and brochures. Are they up to date and easy to read?
Packaging
- Does the pack look like your brand?
- Is it protective and easy to open?
- Does it include a note, instructions or care information?

People and uniforms
- Do uniforms or aprons carry the brand properly?
- Can the team explain what you stand for?
- Does the way they speak match your tone of voice?
Vehicles and delivery
- Are vehicles clean and consistent?
- Do delivery notes and labels carry your brand?
Events and displays
- Do banners, tables and giveaways match?
- Is there a clear message that people can read from a distance?
Rate and fix
Score each area from one to five. Start with those that customers see most. A new set of cards or a repaired sign costs little compared with the effect on how people see you.
Keep it consistent
Use the same logo files, colours and fonts everywhere. A logo file pack and a one-page brand sheet help suppliers get things right the first time.
Ask suppliers for proofs
Printers and sign makers can make mistakes. Always check a proof, ask for samples and confirm colours on the real material.
