Shopify Product Page Checklist: 15 Things That Help Shoppers Buy
A 15-point checklist for Shopify product pages covering photos, titles, descriptions, reviews, delivery, trust and mobile, so more visitors turn into buyers.

The product page is where a visit becomes a sale or doesn't. You can send plenty of traffic to a shop and still sell little if the product pages don't do their job. This checklist covers the things that matter most, and works for Shopify and most other platforms.

Photos and video
1. Show the product clearly. A clean main image on a plain background, so shoppers see exactly what they'll get.
2. Add lifestyle and scale shots. Show the product in use, held or in a room, so people understand size and feel.
3. Show details. Close-ups of materials, stitching, labels or ingredients.
4. Consider a short video. A few seconds of the product in use can answer questions photos can't.
The words
5. A clear, searchable title. Say what it is, plainly. Include the type and key feature, not just a clever name.
6. A description that sells and informs. Start with the benefit, then list the practical details: materials, dimensions, care, ingredients, compatibility.
7. Answer the obvious questions. Sizing, fit, how it works, what's included, how long it lasts.
Price and choice
8. Make price and options easy. Show the price clearly, with sizes and variants selectable without confusion. Make sure sold-out options are obvious.
9. Show savings clearly. If there's a bundle or discount, state the amount saved in pounds. See ecommerce conversion rate basics.
Trust
10. Show real reviews. Include verified reviews and photos where possible, including some mixed ones for credibility.
11. Be clear about delivery and returns. State costs, timings and your returns policy on the page, so there are no surprises at checkout.
12. Show trust signals. Secure payment icons, a contact address and a clear guarantee, if you offer one.
Usability
13. A prominent add-to-basket button. Visible without scrolling on a phone, with clear wording.
14. Fast and mobile-friendly. Compress images, remove unused apps and test on a real phone. See website speed and Core Web Vitals.
15. Suggest what's next. Related products, add-ons or "complete the set" suggestions that make sense, without overwhelming.
Quick wins to try this week

- Add a short "what's included" list
- Put delivery and returns above the fold
- Show the saving on any bundle
- Compress your biggest images
Measure the effect
Look at the product page conversion rate, add-to-basket rate and drop-off in your shop analytics. Change one thing at a time and give each a couple of weeks.
When traffic is the problem
If the pages are strong but few people arrive, work on bringing the right visitors. See Google Ads vs Meta Ads and retargeting ads.
